How I organized my earrings

As many of us I have many earrings and it's growing every day) You are also spending way too much time trying to find a matching pair of earrings: they are mixed up, catch each other...

Some times ago I saw one great and simple idea in Internet how to organize earrings, but I did not have a time to realize it. So now I don't work more (yes, I forfot to write about it) and I have many tome to crafting. This idea is to take a simple grater and color it, then you can hung you earrings)

Last week I gone on the marker and bought a grater - 3 euro.

Then I visited a hardware store and bought a little bottle of color for metal - 3.6 euro.

I colored grater at home (first one side, then other, otherwise you smudge) and decorate it's top with piece of vintage lace.

New luggage tags

These new luggage tags I made in different shapes: car for who should change car to air for travelling, rugby ball for lover of football, moustache and lips.

When I made first time moustache luggage tag one client bought it and said that it's for her son. Then she asked if I can make luggage tag in a shape of lips for her daughter. I answered "Yes, of cource! I have wonderful bright red leather to make it". In such manner was born also lips shaped luggage tag.

Car and rugby ball luggage tags have a window containing information card for your name, address. Privacy flap keeps prying eyes off your information.
Leather luggage tag are very time resistant so you can use it for many trips during many years.

Personalized luggage tags

How frequently do you still loos a time to find your luggage on the a huge selection of similar ones on the carousel at the airport, train station or bus?

I created these personalized leather luggage tags to help you spot your bag on the carousel more easily. It can be initial letter of your name or surname. I made it in two colors because I think dark blue luggage tag is better for men and bright red luggage tag – for women. Personalized luggage tags could make your bags sparkle and also leather personalized luggage tags are look elegant!

I made this luggage tag from two pieces of high quality italian natural leather, which are sewn together by machine. You can easily attach this tag to practically any bag or purse using strong ribbon.
You can create this personalized luggage tag easily at home, just print pattern of a letter from computer, cut two pieces and sew them together. Then take about 30 cm of ribbon, cut small line on the letter and pass the ribbon through it. After that sew together the ends of the ribbon. Your personalized luggage tag is ready! You can make it for every member of your family!

-Please tell us a little bit about yourself

What can Itell about myself?
I'm 23, I have a young, ambitiousand full of hope fora brighter future
By education I am a psychologist, butpsychology does not attract me as a profession.

I'm a self taught handmade artisttrying to turn my favorite hobby into life style and profession.

I create unusual jewelry. Butsometimes I move in the other direction. Spontaneously I can start makinggreeting cards or decorative items for the home. In short, I am a creativeperson and quite unpredictable even to myself. I guess that's my trick.

-How long have you been creating? How did your journey in art and creativitybegin?

I loved to make things since Iwas small. As far as I can rememberas a child I drew a lot, asked my grandmother taught me to embroider.Then I wanted to makeclothes and I wanted to be a designer.

My path to the creation of jewelry was long. At some pointI started to sew feltbrooches.

After a while I realized that I liketo make jewelry and I started trying different techniques and materials.

Now I’mfond of creating resin jewelry. I chosethis material and technique because itallows me to create different things without limiting the imagination.

In future I want to try to use other materials and techniques.

-Whatis the most important about your work?

I can identify several aspects that are important to my business. This is a good mood, inspiration, and support of myfamily

In my work I like the fact that I’mthe owner of business and can do what I want.
No doubt, it creates a good mood which I put in my work.

One of the most important events for my business was opening a Citrus Сat shop on Etsy. This was a good incentive for me.

-What would you say makes your shop unique?

The original approach to the creation of my jewelry is making them unique.

I am a self-taught and eclecticartist, who works with a variety of techniques.
My jewelry is a world full of colors of life.
With my jewelry I want to make the world more beautiful and colorful.

Italian Polpette - meatballs

Italian Polpette (meatballs) - is traditional Sunday food in Brindisi. They can be made fried or braised in sugo (traditional italian tomato sause).

You will need:
1 lbs ground beef or veal
2 eggs
200 gr Parmiggiano Reggiano (Parmesan cheese), grated
Parsley
Black Pepper
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
White bread with no crust
Oil to fry (better olive oil)

In a bowl mix well ground meat, 2 eggs, pepper, parsley, pressed garlic and Parmesan. You may want to add third egg and some white bread, previously soaked in milk and squeezed out.

Shape small size balls. Warm up the oil (not less than two fingers depth in the pan to deep fry the balls). Fry a few polpette at a time, taking out on the paper towels to drip the extra oil. Cover polpette with another paper towel to keep warm.

So, that’s all!
If you want to cook polpette in sugo you could fry them slightly and then stew 10-15 minutes in sugo. In this case they would be called “polpette al sugo”.

Holidays season in Italy

It's finished Holiday season and I want to write about Christmas and New Year’s traditions in Italy. As we all know already Italy is a country of traditions! They differ a bit from region to region or town to town just like the dialects, but some are common all over Italy and those are the ones I’d like to share.

Christmas is well loved and celebrated in Italy as all over the World and by the end of November most of the shops are decked out for the season.

On Christmas Eve the whole family gathers at the table laden with goods with Presepe in the center. Presepe is Nativity Scene in Italy - Joseph, Mary and animals in the stable. Just a few figures or all the table taken by scenes of local life. At Christmas time a lot of towns hold Presepe exhibitions and artists compete to make the best one.

At midnight the youngest in the family holds the statuette of baby Jesus and leads the „train” of a sort where everybody follows holding the person before by the shoulders all around the house as they sing «tu scendi dalle stelle» - You come down from the stars. At the end of the song baby Jesus is put into Presepe and unwrapping of gifts starts.

One more Christmas tradition is Italian Christmas cakes that grace every table - panettone and pan d'oro.

There are other traditional sweets of this period. In our region they called purcedduzzi and carteddati. Purcedduzzi are small, funny, fried gnocchi with a sweet flavour and an orange aroma, carteddati in dialect means bent, curved. Both can be decorated with almonds or cedar nuts (the almond tree is the most common in Puglia) and covered with honey. They can be covered also with "vincotto" - wine boiled until it becomes syrup.

Right after Christmas on the 26th is St.Stephen’s Day - Santo Stefano. He is the patron saint of Italy. I can’t remember any particular traditions of that day besides getting the whole family together one more time to feast from the heart and stomach!

Let’s move on from Christmas to New Years.

Traditionally it’s not a family holiday like Christmas, but a celebration with friends, usually a noisy and fun party. Often Italians go skiing for a few days over the New Years or just to get away to the mountains. One of the holy traditions of New Year’s Eve is cooking lentils and then eating them at midnight, of course without utensils, just with hands! Lentils are followed by meat delicacy called cotechino. It is a fresh sausage made from pork, fatback, and pork rind. Eaten with hands of course  Tradition says eating lentils at New Year’s will bring you lots of money in that year. As long as I remember, and especially since the crisis, it didn’t bring us any, but we still do it every year.

Last holiday of the season is Epafania - Epiphany, that is celebrated 12 days after Christmas on the 6th of January. Gift giving for Christmas is a novelty in Italy, that tradition isn’t older than 30 years. Before that the gifts were brought by Befana – old, ugly but kind witch that comes on her broom at the night of the 6th and places the gift into the stocking hung at the window or fireplace. Traditionally you have to leave Befana a snack. If the child was good for the year he or she will find stocking full of sweets, dry and fresh fruit, but if he or she was bad the stocking will be filled with coal. This tradition is getting forgotten now but my husband always leaves a sockful of chocolates and a tiny witch figure under my pillow.

Potato gnocchi with cream of shrimps

Potato gnocchi with cream of shrimps - Gnocchi di patate con crema di gamberi. This is easy to make recipe that don't need many time to cook. Hope you will like it)

You will need for two person:
3-4 garlic cloves
0.66-0.77 lb (300-350 gr) of fresh potato gnocchi
0.33-0.37 lb (150-170 gr) of peeled shrimps (or 3-4 medium scampi)
3-4 tomatoes cherry
2-3 big spoon of cream
Olive oil

Put a pot of water for gnocchi ( When water will boil put gnocchi and cook them abou 3-4 minutes.)
Put some oil in pan. Fry garlic a little. Then take away garlic.

Put shrimps (scampi) and fry a few minutes.

Then put cutted tomatoes and stew a few minutes again.

When tomatoes became soft, add cream, mix and stew during 1-2 minutes.

Add gnocchi and mix all. Add a few of sliced parsley. Stew for about 1-2 minutes.

It's december now ans Christmas is around a corner. Every of us is search gifts for friends, parents, family. In Italy Christmas is a big family holiday when all family band together usually in the hous of granparents. At midnight we open gifts and It's often difficult to find your gift becaise all packages and bags seem equal. Thats why this idea suggested itself to me - to print small gift tags with letter and attach to the gift bags: "N" for Nando, "K" for Katrin, "F" for Francesco etc. You can put also whole name of the person because of course can be persons with the name began from the same letter. In this case you can hang "NANDO" on the thread and Nando will recognize his gift immediately.
You can use these letters also in your scrapbooking project.

Crochet snowflakes

Sorry, that I write very ocassionally now, but I really don't have a time. Holiday season is began) But I found a time today to show these crochet snowflakes.
In south Italy here we don't have snow, so I decided to make my own snowflakes and decorate my house and christmas tree with them. Maybe I will attache one to the gift for my friends or decorate window or reefer. It's a great idea to also use them for custom holiday cards.
I found many patterns in internet and choose 12 most beautiful for me.
They are so delicate and beautiful! Some people wrote me that these snowflakes the same like granmather made) and for these people it's like return to childhood.
If you know crochet it will be easy for you to make a pair of crochet snowflakes for Chrostmas tree. The design possibilities are endless, each one unique. There are many patterns in Internet perfect also for begginers. Depending on which crochet thread you use, the size of snowflakes can vary anywhere from 2-4 inches in diameter to as much as 5 inches. I advice to use thin thread - they will be like lace!
It's important - when you finish them you should stiffen snowflakes well and use pins to stretch and shape them.

Chestnuts adventure in Calabria. Part 2

Chestnuts adventure in Calabria. Part 1

1 November is a Holiday in Italy thats why we decided to make a three days weekend and go in Calabria to pick chestnuts in forest. We went to Camigliatello Silano. It's a small town in Sila moutains and it population is about 1000 persons.
It was Sunday and as you think, what we found when we came - a Fest! It was Sagra of chestnuts and potatoes. Sagra is a small local fest dedicated to local food and drinks.

The central street was full of market stalls selling every local product and of course chestnuts, potatoes and mushrooms.

How to manage long hairs of your daughter

Many of us have children and who has a girl know they seem to come from the womb with a collection of hair clips, hairbands, hair pins...
I don't have children but my friend has beautiful girl 6 years old. This year she gone in the school. Nicole is half russian and half italian girl and she inherited blond hair from her mother and chocolate eyes from her father. I love Nicole very much.
I made some hair pins and hair ties with crochet flowers for Nicole and she jumped from happy. So I thinked why I don't make this tiny things for other girls and this is outcome. Of course I made photos with Nicole. She was so anxious to be a model)

These bobby pins are simple - crochet flower attached to the bobby pin. It's finished with a bead in the center of the flower. So, If you know to crochet, you can make little flower and sew it on the bobby pin. Pretty, cute and unique these crochet bobby pins are perfect for girls of all ages. I made them from cottone for childrens that has special ueropean certificate of health and safety of textile products.

Pumpkin risotto

We love pumpkins! Especially for Halloween! Today I share with you pumpkin risotto recipe (risotto alla zucca). It is a simple but tasty and you will cook it in about 30-40 minutes.
I never liked pumpkin but this plate I cook often)

You will need:
200 gr rice
300 gr pumpkin
50 gr butter
50 gr parmigiano, grated
1 medium size onion, chopped
500 gr hot water or vegetable broth
100 ml white wine
Salt & pepper to taste

Remove the peel and the seeds of pumpkin. Cut it into pieces and boil. Remove the pumpkin from the water and whip it up with the blender. Reserve the liquid, this is your vegetable stock.

Saute the onion until golden in color in about half of amount of butter. Add rice and stir. Cook for about 5 more minutes and add some wine to the mix. Stir onion, rice and wine together.

Add some reserved vegetable stock or hot water to the pan, stir. Add pureed pumpkin and the rest of liquid. Stir and cook all together until rice will become tender.

Add the other half of butter and the parmigiano. Stir and leave for a couple of minutes under the lid.
It's ready to serve!

Halloween is nearly here yet again and that means, among other things, time for Halloween costumes. It's one of those times of the year where you can truly be anything and anyone and that is why it is tough to narrow down the choices. For those many people who enjoy being creative about Halloween, it’s time to get moving on this year’s ideas. I will help you celebrate the Halloween with fun and color!

These are easy to make orange crochet earrigns with black beads that seem two pumpkin. You can make them with your own hands!

You need:

2 earrings hooks (better black),

2 round head pins (better black),

4 black beads,

2 crochet orange balls,

wire cutters,

round nose pliers.

If you don't know how to make crochet balls you can easy find the video tutorial here.

1. Thread one black bead on the pin. Then thread the crochet ball and the second black bead.

2. If pin is too long cut it about 1 cm/0.4" from the second bead. Then using round nose pliers coil the wire end. Make 1-2 coils.

3. Attach the ear hook.

4. Repieat steps 1-3 to make second earring.

I’ve been playing with this idea for a while now and I was finally able to bring it to life in the last few weeks. Solden

Today I share with you last photos from my vacance in Alpes. This is Solden - small town in Austria near Rombo pass, but big ski center in winter. I saw also many ropeways working and we decided to lift to 3000 m.

There was a little cold but the panorama was so beautiful you stop to breath!!!

This is the first stage of descent, but we wasn't equiped for this... You can feed giddy...

We descent to next stop of ropeway at 2500m and here began our trip down in Solden.

The second trip in Solden was by car. It's famous Ötztaler Gletscherstraße - Ice road that raise on 2800m and lead to the gletchers.

As you know, I'm a creative person so I wanted to create something to wear it at work.

This necklace I made a threading on organza ribbon - glass, acrylic, crochet beads and crochet flower. It's beautiful and attractive necklace. I like to wear it with simple white t-shirt and purple skirt or pants.

To make this necklace, you'll need a few items - organza ribbon, beads in any design or shape you please and your fantazy! Cut one end of each ribbon on a sharp angle so that the ribbon comes to a point. This makes threading the pearls or beads onto the ribbon easier. Make a node before and after every bead to keep it. I used clasp closure, but you can simply make a node and hide it inside of the bead.

Krimml waterfall

One of the places we visited was famous waterfall near Krimml in Austrtia. It's the higher waterfall in Europe - 380 meters ans consist of three stages. You can ascend the trail to the top- Along the trail made places to admire the waterfall. Some are so close to it that it pour spray from head to toe.

Just when you make out little figures of people in the photo, you can imagine the size and power of Krimml Fall. But on the photo it's only small part of it.When you ascend this rock near the base of waterfall, the power of wind is so high that you can not to stay on the feet. There are so many splatters that you become wet after a few seconds and noise of waterfall deafen you.

In the evening we arrived in Livigno - small town near Swiss.
And we found that it is today in fest called "Black night". In all center of the town will be turned off street lights, people will walk with candles. Bars and restaurants will also be illuminated only by candles. It was wonderful, I never saw something like this before!

Tutorial: Circle leather pendant with charm

You can make beautiful and stylish pendant with your own hands. It's possible!

You will need:
a.. Piece of genuine leather - thickness 0.02-0.06" - проверь!! (0,5-1,5 mm)
b.. Thick needle or awl
c.. Scissors
d.. Compasses
e.. Flat nose pliers
f.. Charm
g.. Ring - diameter 0.2-0.5" (0,7-1,2 cm)
h.. Chain with lobster clusp closure (or cord)

1. Draw on the back side of the leather 2 equal circles.
2. Cut them out.
3. It has to look like this.

4. Join the edges as shown. Sew circe together at a distance of 0.1"
(2-3 mm) from the edge.

5. If the edge of one of the circles overhang, trim it with scissors.
6. Pierce with a thick needle at a distance of 0.1" (2-3 mm) from the edge.

7. Take a ring and pass it through the hole.
8. Take a charm and put it on the ring.
9. Close the ring with flt nose pliers.

10. Pass the chain (or cord) through the ring.

Your exclusive pendant is ready!

Grape harvest

Already begun the grape harvest, which called in Italy Vendemmia. Now on the roads near Brindisi you can sea small tractors with trailers full of grapes harvested.
On vacation, before going to the Alpes, we visited two famous grape valleys near Verona - Soave and Valpolicella.

In the valley of Valpolicella make famous vine Amarone, a bottle of which costs abou 40-50 euros. The grapes for Amarone after harvest in October, leaving another 120 days for wither. Vino Amarone has usually about 14°.

This summer vi visited some Wineries near Brindisi where we explained certain secrets of winemaking. For excample, you know that red wine is not made from red grape? It's can be made as from white grape as from red grape. For make red wine during fermentation add skins of grape - It change the color and the taste.

Inspired by fall

Summer is almost gone and turned into fall. It’s that time of the year when I think of the past summer, organize photos made in vacance. Who has children need to prepare them to school.

Autumn is my favorite season, because of the colorful fall foliage, foliage tours. I do love the colors which describe the fall – hues of orange, red and warm browns. The colors of fall are warm and inviting, something I like to enjoy indoors as well as outdoors. But here in south of Italy the autumn is not "real", all trees are always green. You can’t feel the smell of autumn in the air. Yesterday was very hot and humid, newspapers say that all september will be such!

I know that in Murmansk is already cold, the forest wears the colors of autumn and is full of berries and mushrooms. Mama told me that she prepared some jams for me)
I like orange maple leaves in parks of Saint-Petersburg where I studied for 6 years. The most beautiful is Aleksandrovskij park in Pushkin, small historical town near St-Petersburg. Fall is a great season for photographers. With my friends-photographers we often visited this park - away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, into relaxation, novelty and beautiful scenery.

I miss all this beauty there…

Looking through autumn photos on my computer I was inspired to make these orange crochet earrings. Their color reminded me of fall in Russia. Orange glass beads are shining like drops of autumn rain on leaves.
I created also a brooch but before I had a time to make photos my friend saw it and immediately bought it to make a gift to her sister!

Barley with smoked bacon

Many people did not have a very positive impression about pearl barley during his/ hers childhood. However, I know a way to make it taste great!
I found this reciepe on one packing of barley and tasted it. It was so good that also my husband cleaned the plate with bread! So before wrinkle your nose, try to cook this reciepe. It's easy to prepare and does not require many ingridients.

You will need:

1 cup of pearl barley

3 cups of water
2 lbs of tomatoes, chopped or 1 can (28 oz) of diced unsalted tomatoes

1/2 lbs of salted smoked bacon, diced
1 large onion, chopped
olive oil

Wash the pearl barley several times. Leave it soaking in the water for at least 4 to 5 hours. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and continue cooking until the barley is tender and liquid is almost absorbed or use a colander to drain barley (reserve some cooking liquid).

Heat the olive oil in a deep skillet and sauté the onions over medium-high heat until golden in color. Add the bacon and cook for about 5 more minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the tomatoes and simmer all together on a low setting.

Stir in the cooked barley and reserved liquid. Continue to cook over low heat until heated thoroughly.

Add some salt if needed. I is not use any salt in because the bacon is salty already. But if you feel you need to add some, feel free.

Tutorial: Moustache keychain

If you can't choose gift for your dad, son or boyfriend - you can make а beautiful and stylish gift by your hands. Yes, it's possible! Here I write how to make leather mustache keychain.
You can buy this moustache key chain in my shop.

You will need:
a. A piece of genuine leather – thickness 0.03-0.06” (0,7-1,5 mm)
b. A thick needle or awl
c. Scissors
d. Flat nose pliers (2 pairs)
e. A key ring
f. Thread
g. A sewing machine
h. Moustache pattern

1. You can print and use the pattern included or draw your own.

2. Outline the moustache pattern twice оn the back side of the leather. Also outline a rectangle measuring 0.8x2.4” (2x6 cm).

3. Cut them out. It has to look like this.

4. Pass the strip into the ring and bend in half. Join the edges as shown. Position the strip with the ring between the two cut-out moustache pieces as desired.

5. Sew together at a distance of 0.1" (2-3 mm) from the edge. Sew through twice where you put strip with the ring.

6. If one of the edges overhangs, trim it with scissors.

Your keychain is ready!

Desert Rose

Now arrived the most hot time in south Italy. Temperature varies from 33°С to 38°С (91,4F to 100,4 F). Last year on my birthday July 13 was 42°С heat (107,6 F). All the grass has dried, there are no flowers in the fields. And the only oleanders bloom with their strange beauty along the roads.

All around me have beige color - It's color of dried grass, golden-beige color of the sand on the beaches... Also town is beige because all the houses here are made from beige stone from Lecce. All this golden and beige dilute splendor has inspired me to create this ring. I called it "Desert Rose". It remember me about the sand, the desert and dry wind.
I made crochet flower from sand colored cotton thread and decorated the center with vintage glass bead. Then I connected it to beige leather flower. Together these two different textures make this ring similar to dunes of Sahara with their dark and light splashes.

Summertime

Summer is here and with summertime came a season of sagras which I love.

Sagra is an artisian food themed festival in a small towns which usually is taking place on the central square. It can be dedicated to a watermelon or eggplant or even pizza! The full list of sagras you can find in a local newspaper so you can always find the one which will suit your taste.

During the festival you can sample 2 or 3 dishes of the local cuisine and sip some wine. The food and wine comes from the town’s butchers, bakers, farmers and vintners. All the cooking is done by volunteers and the wait staffs are the enthusiastic local people. Signs announcing the dates and featured foods of the sagras dot roadways and are posted on stone walls in and around towns.

We have already visited some sagras this summer:

No sagra is possible without the traditional music and dance of Salento. Everyone here knows how to dance pizzika, from toddler to the elderly people. People are learning to dance from the very young age.

This little girl simply charmed me, she is probably just learned how to walk and she is already trying to dance!

This is me during one of the festivals, wearing a traditional pizzika costume. The girl's costume for pizzika always includes a long wide skirt and scarf or shawl. While dancing the girl is flirting with a young man, using her scarf.

This wonderful skirt I bought in vacance in Greece and I very like it for bright color:

After I learned to make crochet balls I created these two pairs of crochet earrings to add to my costumes. One pair is white as I have white skirt and the second pair is turquoise for my turquoise skirt.

So when you drive through the Italian country side and see the signs along the road inviting you to visit sagra, turn, go in and enjoy!

La Papara

Are you thinking that I visited Wild West of America? No)
This is "La Papara" - competition where horsemen from all parts of Puglia take part for winning the "head" of papara. La papara is a little balloon with water. The goal of horseman is at full tilt bring down it. For do this men should be able to perfectly ride a horse and have a coordination. It's important not only to bring down the balloon but return to start the shortest time. This year in La Papara took part 9 horsemen.

This man was my favorite because hi perfectly rided a horse and seemed organic whole with horse. Hi had the most beautiful horse I ever seen:

I thinked that he will win and he had the best time till the last boy. But this last boy took 4th place in European competition of Barrel Riding. His time was better for only 0.13 sec!

Cell phone cases for your Father

I'm living in Salento in the South Italy - It's region of wine and olive oil. That's why often my inspiration cames from nature and long traditions of this region.
If you go out from Brindisi you will see hundreds and thousands olive trees. Olive tree has amazing color of leaves and it inspired me to create this cell phone case from dark olive green leather. It has simmetric design with two olive green circles which seem two olives.

The second I made from bronze leather. This is the color of the clayey disiccated land of Salento. It has two dark brown rectangles with black borders. This geometric design is very simple.

This light beige leather remember me the color of walls made from stones without concrete. This walls traditionally devide fields and gardens in countryside of Salento. This sleeve case has two cream circles and decorative brown stitches.

The last sleeve case I created from brown leather inspired by color of rind of olive trees. Decorated with black borders and a few dark brown stitches this leather case remind me check on the rind of olive trees.

Every cell phone sleeve is unique as because I don't have this leather more as because I like to make one of a kine things.

Italian seafood soup

As I promiced in my sunday post today I write about Zuppa di pesce - Fish soup or Italian Seafood soup. It's famouse plate of South Italy. It's easy to cook but need many ingridients.

I made these photos when we cooked Zuppa for ten persons, so, you can see many ingredients and full pan of seafood.

For cooking Zuppa for two persons you would need:

100 ml/ 3,5 fl. Oz. - extra virgin olive oil (di oliva),
3-4 garlic cloves,
0,5 kg/17.6 oz. tomatoes
2 scampi (wild shrimps)
6 shrimps
1 small cuttlefish
10-12 black mussels (better to use the type called mussels Taranto)
15-20 clams
2 fasolari (Callista chione)

One small goosefish
One-two different small rock-fish that have intense flavor

It's important that fish is very fresh! All mussels, clams and fasolari must be alive. Ask to control clams at the fishmarket - it can contain sand. In this case one clam will damages all plate. Crustaceans must be also very fresh. Do not use the crustaceans that have the flesh is very soft, greenish-gray.

If you use bake ware the flavor will be more intense.
Recipe:
Put some oil in pan. Fry garlic a little. Then put fish, and sliced cuttlefish and tomatoes. (You can put also some seafood - in this case you will need to remove it from pan together with fish)

The trick that fish must always be bathed in broth or sause. You don't need to salt because the sea fish is lready quite salty.
Remove fish from the pan after 10-15 minutes. Put all seafood in the pan. Add some chopped parsley. Stew it about 15 minutes.

If a broth is insufficient consistency, pour a little bit of water with salt.
After 15 minutes put the fish back to the broth.
Boil it for 1-2 minutes.

At the same time toast 3-4 pieces of bread.

Put in the plate Zuppa for serving along with toasted bread.

My new summer hat

The last weekend was full of events. In the near town of Lecce was an exhibition “Artigianato D'Eccellenza”. The exhibition was held inside the ancient church, and this increased it’s charm. There was a lot of talented young designers and many unique creations. But I immediately was attracted by a table with a lot of hats. There were very broad hats like a Hollywood star of the 50-s, were small hats in the style of 30-ies, or simply beautiful straw hat with decorative flowers. I pulled out the first hat and fell in love. Of course, I measured a lot of others, but this was the best! I bought it immediately.

Before hats were an essential accessory for every woman. This summer after many years hats back in fashion. Nothing is more feminine than women wearing a hat.
Do you think I look like a Hollywood star?

Another event was the day of open doors of wineries. It was Sunday, we visited a few on the way to the sea and a couple returning from the beach. In next post I will write about secrets of wine producing.

Insalata caprese

Insalata caprese is a typical recipe from the island of Capri, the most famous island in the Gulf of Naples. We like to cook it in summer because it’s fresh, fast and easy to make. It takes about five minutes for preparation.
A caprese salad or a insalata caprese is consisting of fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, olive oil and basil. The salad can be seasoned with salt and pepper.

You will need:
1 fresh ripe tomato or 3-4 tomatoes cherry
1 ball fresh mozzarella
fresh basil leaves

You need only to slice all ingredients and mix it wil oil, sale and pepper.
Caprese salad is usually accompanied by toasted bread.

Sunday by the Ionian Sea

Today was wonderful day, warm and sunny. That’s why we decided to go to the Ionian sea (Brindisi is near Adriatic sea). It's about 40 minutes from Brindisi.

Water was splendid and turquoise. It’s not cold already and I wet my feet. Sand was hot and gold. We passed 2 hours at the beach walking and reading. Of course I have done what I prefere at the beach – gathering of the shells. And of course I payed for this my a little burned shoulders) I don't know where I will use these sheel but I like them very much!

In the evening we gone in the other town, Porto Cesareo, for walking and looking the sunset.

This town is very famous for fishermans and there are many fish markets. We bought many kind of small fish and the sea food to do wonderful “Zuppa di pesce” – Fish soup. This is very particular plate of our region. Today I show you some photos made in fish markets and next week I will post recipe for this famouse plate of South Italy.

Turquoise crochet and leather ring

I created this turquoise crochet and leather ring because I charmed of this color. When I was young I always can say excactly which colors I like, but now I can't because I like all colors. Every color has a time in the live. Maybe I don't like some color now, but I know tomorrow or next month I will have different mood and I will like this color.

When I saw turquoise thread in the shop I bought it immediately. I already made earrings and pendant from turquoise leather that's why I used this thread to create a ring for this set. I made the crochet flower center and attached it to leather flower. These two textures are very stylish together.

I happy to write that today my turquoise crochet and leather ring was on FP! Thank you imeondesign for including it in your absolutely lovely treasury collection "You might like this (on friday)".

Do you think about summer? I love the spring and summer and all that connected with. I found these adorable barefort sandals brousing through blogs of my friends. I always admire crochet work of my friend Vikulya and I'm fascinated by them! I love the look of hand crochet lace and colorful beads. I never saw so beautiful, elegant and femmine barefort sandals. They are so summer! It will be the perfect finishing touch to my beach outfit!

I'm always experimenting with colors and textures, trying to create something new for you. I already wrote about Lavander Necklace with crochet and fabric balls. Today I present the second creation in this new line of my jewelry - Necklace with crocheted and fabric beads in burgundy.
I used 100% cotton thread to create these burgundy-white melange crochet balls. To create fabric beads I used a beautiful burgundy shimmery organza fabric. I like to work with organza - It has so many shades especially in the sunlight. Photos can't show this beauty. Combination of these so different materials makes this necklace very unique. The final touch give small white glass beads.
Burgundy color will not let anyone pass you, he immediately attracted attention. It will liven up your favorite t-shirt or blouse!
