Candle holder from glass jar and doilies

Today I'll show you how to make a beautiful candle holder from glass jar and crochet doilies. It needs a minimum of time and materials as you can see. And this is another way to use crocheted doilies.

You will need:
- Glass Jar (I took one from yogurt)
- 2-3 small crochet doilies
- Ribbon, cord - everything you prefer to decorate the jar's top
- Glue in spray (you can use also not in spray, but it's more convenient and easier to use)

So, let's begin.
Lay the paper on a work surface and place the doily, face down. Apply the glue uniformly on the doily.

Take doily with care and attach it to the jar, stretching to avoid folds and positioning pattern uniformly. I used two bigger doilies and two smaller cuted out from an old tablecloth.

You can attach doilies as you like - covering all jar, or just one part, or use a rectangular doily and glue it on the bottom of the jar.

Attached all doilies, we have to decorate the top of the jar. I used the organza ribbon, but you can decorate with any ribbon or cord so on.

Tie a bow, put a candle inside and enjoy a romantic evening!

Decorate bottle in shabby chic DIY

Many people like the Shabby chic style. Me too, so I want to show you how you can create with your own hands details for the home in this style.
How to decorate wooden furniture I already wrote here. Today I'll show how you can quickly and easily decorate the bottles.

It can be any bottle, even from marmalade)
You will need a bottle, strip of burlap, lace ribbon.

Pull out a few threads from the edges.

Wrap burlap around bottle, then wrap the ribbon and tie a bow.

It's ready! Is it nice and simple?

Ideas for new pillow covers!

This week I finally found a time to realize some ideas I had in my mind for many time. I made 3 new pillows and I hasten to write about them. These are tutorials for pillows I made and some I dream to make or buy)

1.   Pillow pillow decorated with crochet doilies
Tutorial I found herebut I decided to take one big doily and attaché it in the center of the pillow I already have.

2.   Upsycled sweater pillow
Use sweater out of your closet that has seen better days or find one on the local market or on the sale. Measure the insert to determine the size of the pillow adding 1/2 inch to each side for seam allowance . I cut off the sleeves and then cut off the top and bottom. Pin right sides together and sewed up all the seams, leaving a small opening on the bottom to stuff the pillow in.  Turn right side out. Add the insert and hand-stitch close
So cozy!

3.   Taffeta pillow
One more pillow I made from a piece of amazing taffeta fabric found about year ago in the shop. The photo can’t show how it’s beautiful!

4.   Shag pillow or ruffled pillow
You can also made pillow decorated with ruffles like here

This one is next to make))

5.   Boho pillow
Pillow made from vintage Uzbek rug is absolutely amazing! It is soft and silky, and feels like rayon. I dream to buy this one:

My Lavender Kingdom

I'd like to invite you to my Lavender Kingdom today. It is called "La bottega della lavanda " or a "Lavender shop".

This is lavender:

By the way, this bicycle by the entrance works just fine!

I have all what you want: perfuse, cosmetics, air fresheners, lovely sachets, soaps and bath products, candles and also house decor items and ceramics.
Everything here (including me) is either lavender colored or has lavender fragrance. Even our cash register is purple! According to psychologists, lavender color works to relax you. It calms your down and even improves your vision!

Even ancient Romans known beneficial effects of lavender. Now you can find lavender in almost everywere in Italy, especially in north. You can see it in gardens or on balconies or terrassa. It is a beautiful plant blooming with small flowers.

Do you know that one drop of lavender oil will ease the discomfort of mosquito bite? It’s also a mosquito repellent. Not many people know this natural remedy.
If you will get a chance, try to see the amazing lavender fields of the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia region in the north of Italy. Once you see it you will almost instantly fall in love with this beautiful flower!

Lavender will help calm down your nerves and will help you think clearly. You can also use it in cooking or you can drink it as a part of a herbal tea.
Lavender sachets placed in the closet will absorb odor and also will disinfect the air. It is said that if you will place a lavender-based natural air freshener in your bedroom or place a lavender sachet right on your pillow during day, you will never have a bad dream. You will wake up refreshed and full of energy!

As you know, I'm a creative person so I wanted to create something to wear it at work.
This necklace I made a threading on organza ribbon - glass, acrylic, crochet beads and crochet flower. It's beautiful and attractive necklace. I like to wear it with simple white t-shirt and purple skirt or pants.

To make this necklace, you'll need a few items - organza ribbon, beads in any design or shape you please and your fantazy! Cut one end of each ribbon on a sharp angle so that the ribbon comes to a point. This makes threading the pearls or beads onto the ribbon easier. Make a node before and after every bead to keep it. I used clasp closure, but you can simply make a node and hide it inside of the bead.

I hope you enjoyed your short trip to my Lavender Kingdom. If you are ever in Italy please stop by!
