DIY Christmas tree ornament from wine corks

I don't want to buy Christmas ornaments even more. So, I checked my craft supplies and came up with these: Christmas tree ornaments made from wine corks.

Yes, I love recycling) This is wonderful project to make with the kids! It happens that I live in a wine region and I don't have problems with wine corks) 

All you need is this:

- 4 wine corks 

- glue 

- a (serrated) knife to slice the corks 

- some thread or ribbon

To begin, cut wine corks horizontally with a knife into two parts (Do it yourself if you make project with kids)

Glue the tree working by rows (first 3 then 2) and next glue the rows together in a 3-2-1 triangular setting. So your Christmas tree will not come apart.

Take some thread, ribbon and work it around your tree twice. Make a tight double knot at the top. Make another knot so you have a loop to hang up your tree. 

We still have the two pieces of the wine cork. Take one of them and glue it or attach it with small nail at the bottom - so we got a trunk.

Button Wreath Christmas tree ornament DIY

If you have a lot of buttons in your house, do not rush to throw them away, because they can be used for ...  Christmas tree decor! Make this project with your children)

All you need - a lot of flat buttons, thin ribbon, yarn or wire, and ribbon for bow! Just thread buttons in the order you like. Then tie the ends of the ribbon and make a loop to hang it on the Christmas tree. Then make a bow from second ribbon and sew it over the knot. 

If you replace the tape with wire, the decoration will be perfectly round because the buttons on the ribbon sag under the weight.

 Your decoration is ready!

Christmas shabby chic heart DIY

For Shabby chic Lovers I created this simple but so cute DIY. It takes minimum time but the resuld is absolutely amazing and romantic. You can use it to decorate your Christmas tree or just hang it in the house. I bought a heart, but we can do any other form, here the principle is important.

You will need:

• Heart 
• Ribbon (0.5m)
• Pack of small cones
• beads
• Glue (I used PVA)

So, first make a ribbon bow in any way you like. Fire edges of the ribbon.

Glue the bow on the heart.

Then glue cones, I had to keep them pressed until the glue grabbed a bit.

Glue beads In spaces between the cones. Generally, this is optional , if you do not want, you can not do it.

Crochet snowflakes

Sorry, that I write very ocassionally now, but I really don't have a time. Holiday season is began) But I found a time today to show these crochet snowflakes. 
In south Italy here we don't have snow, so I decided to make my own snowflakes and decorate my house and christmas tree with them. Maybe I will attache one to the gift for my friends or decorate window or reefer. It's a great idea to also use them for custom holiday cards. 
I found many patterns in internet and choose 12 most beautiful for me.
They are so delicate and beautiful! Some people wrote me that these snowflakes the same like granmather made) and for these people it's like return to childhood.
If you know crochet it will be easy for you to make a pair of crochet snowflakes for Chrostmas tree. The design possibilities are endless, each one unique. There are many patterns in Internet perfect also for begginers. Depending on which crochet thread you use, the size of snowflakes can vary anywhere from 2-4 inches in diameter to as much as 5 inches. I advice to use thin thread - they will be like lace!
It's important - when you finish them you should stiffen snowflakes well and use pins to stretch and shape them.
